Matcha Bamboo Whisk

The matcha bamboo whisk, also known as a chasen, is used to froth matcha and should not be missing from your matcha set.

Matcha is prepared by measuring it into a bowl using a matcha spoon (approx. 2 matcha spoons per 100 ml) and then pouring hot water at 60-80 °C over it. Next, whisk with a matcha whisk for about 1-2 minutes until frothy. The freshly frothed matcha tea can now be enjoyed straight from the bowl.

The ‘Chasen’ is 11cm long and made of bamboo and is slightly reminiscent of a shaving brush. Bamboo is a natural and rapidly renewable raw material.
